I am not aware that DC proxies are an issue with tumblr. I would imagine it's just your numbers. But really, all you can do is test test test. Then review the data and see what happens.

But I doubt residential / mobile proxies (or local IP even ) will allow you to do those sort of numbers on new accounts in 2021

ok yeah i have lowered the numbers right down, but bans still coming in after about 3 - 4 days, 1 account per proxy, following 50 - 90 per day.

More tests needed.

Log into the account but don't do anything. Banned?
Log in manually with the browser only. Don't do anything. Banned?
Log in with browser, do some followers. Banned?
Use the bot and follow 5 accounts. Banned?
Use the bot and do NOT use a proxy. Just local IP. Follow 10 profiles. Banned?
