It may sound crazy. Can you reduce plays?
I followed the you tube video correctly and my mixes 2 mixes have on from 70 plays to 470! i doubt it can be done though. I was only wanting to add between 10 and 20 each day as described in the video.

No, cannot be done.
How many plays did you assign to be given?
There sometimes is a discrepancy, due to some proxies failing during the process which Soundcloud counts sometimes. Due to this SCM has to assume they failed. As the other way is to ask for 100 plays, but only get 60. I decided it was better to ask for 100 and get 140.
I have tried to figure out when a proxy fails if it has actually worked, but it just is not possible.
But 470 plays isn't so extreme. If you had said 47,000 that might have looked a bit off though
