Random Questions and Some Suggestions

Post by floridatrail2006 »

I love this software. I think it has HUGE scaling potential. Naturally, scaling leads to money. :) As I have been using it, I've come across some questions and suggestions.

Have a way to import list of proxies into all windows without having to manually import in each

Have a way to create a new blog per account.

Have a way to post content or pictures on a select blog on a particular account.

Have a way to clear images from the "directory" once they have been added. I can't figure out how to do this.

What does "num threads" mean?

When I'm filling out the "Account Usable Proxies" form, do I use the "IP:PORT/IP:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD: for each proxy? Everytime? Can I use "IP:PORT" and still function properly because this is how my IP provider formats the proxies.

The "random pause" section is glitchy. Sometimes it will default to 0,0 when I specified 5,10 for instance.

It's confusing when a blog is listed as a "username." The username should be switched to "blog name." And, there should be another "username" column that is associated with each blog. For instance, a blog name "example.tumblr.com" should listed under "example user" under username.

Should be a way to schedule multiple tasks to automatically occur in the processor without having to click run. A task management system. This could be useful if I want to automate many tasks under many different blogs and users at the same time.

Right-click removal of accounts or removal of images or content. Should be able to right click as it's the natural action to "remove/delete" something in other contexts.

Maybe there are ways to do these things and I can't figure them out. I'm fairly new so forgive my ignorance. Thanks again!

As I read this, it seems in a more demanding tone. I don't mean it all this way. So you know admin. I'm not a crazy cook trying to run the show! Just my thoughts. Tryin' to help.

lol, no worries. You are trying to make the app better, which hopefully leads to a) a better product for all b) more sales (money) for me. So is all good in my book.

Have a way to import list of proxies into all windows without having to manually import in each
I never thought this was necessary, as each ACCOUNT has a CREATION PROXY. This is the proxy used to create the account. This proxy is then used FOR EVERY ACTION this account does. This avoids the problem of you accidently starting a process and forgetting to assign the proxy. But it should be simple to add this if you can convince it is needed (or if enough ask for it)
Have a way to create a new blog per account.
You mean add secondary blog to an account? So far, not possible. As adding blogs to an account puts them at risk if ANY of those blogs come to the attention of tumblr. If you were hoping to add 10s or even of 100s of blogs to a single account, stop it. Don't even go there. One account, one email address and ideally one proxy. Stay safe, don't put all your eggs in one basket. If one account goes down, you still have many more
Have a way to post content or pictures on a select blog on a particular account.
This is in the pipeline, at the moment you cannot. I am still trying to catchup after the Christmas holidays, all being well this is planned for next week
Have a way to clear images from the "directory" once they have been added. I can't figure out how to do this.
I think there is an option "DELETE IMAGE AFTER USE". Once the image has been posted, it can be deleted.
What does "num threads" mean?
This means, how many things can be done at once. So on the processing tab, it means how many actions should be processed at any one time. For Mass Like, it means how many accounts should be used at any one time to like the selected post etc
When I'm filling out the "Account Usable Proxies" form, do I use the "IP:PORT/IP:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD: for each proxy? Everytime? Can I use "IP:PORT" and still function properly because this is how my IP provider formats the proxies.
Use, you can enter as
IP:PORT
or
IP:PORT:USERNAME:PASSWORD

But usable proxies are not so important, better to just use the ACCOUNT CREATION PROXY as that will be attempted first for each account.
The "random pause" section is glitchy. Sometimes it will default to 0,0 when I specified 5,10 for instance.
Really, can you provide an instruction set to replicate this as I haven't experienced it. If you try to set one value higher than the other allows, so if you try and set min higher than the max, it should lock, but not reset.
It's confusing when a blog is listed as a "username." The username should be switched to "blog name." And, there should be another "username" column that is associated with each blog. For instance, a blog name "example.tumblr.com" should listed under "example user" under username.
Yes, figured that out today from a different post on the forum. On my list of things to fix today / tomorrow. I don't want to rush in and change the terminology as perhaps the program need the USERNAME somewhere. If this is the case, I will add a new entry for the account (probably for the best)
Should be a way to schedule multiple tasks to automatically occur in the processor without having to click run. A task management system. This could be useful if I want to automate many tasks under many different blogs and users at the same time.
If you don't want to click run, there should be an option to start processor on app load. Check that box, then it should start automatically when you load TJ
Right-click removal of accounts or removal of images or content. Should be able to right click as it's the natural action to "remove/delete" something in other contexts.
Can do this via the delete key. My hands are always on the keyboard so this has always been more intuitive to me than right click> delete.

As with all suggestions, your feature suggestions have been noted. If enough people ask for it, I will see about getting it added with a priority. Little things like right click delete, I won't lie, probably won't get implement soon, as the functionality is there and I think it is more important to add features than refine usage (add secondary blog usage for example). But as with anything, if enough of you guys ask for it, I get overruled and I will do it, even if I don't see the point :)

Something I just noticed is when exporting accounts if they have WP or blogger blogs tied to them they don't export with that information. If you have large groups of accounts to work with it would make selecting 100+ accounts much easier if you could either group them somehow or just import a list to work with then export it when done. Of course some type of system of folders or something in program would be ideal but I'm guessing just adding the extra info to the export and import would be quicker to add.

Also the ability to use ((SNYD)...) in the clickthru and source would be great so people can link WP blog posts pics with offer links. I had to use the DESC tag as a workaround which isn't ideal. Or a better way to set a link to syndicated post photos so people can funnel traffic from tumblr to WP to offers through the posts.

I realize your still trying to catch up so no huge rush just a couple suggestions.

Ah yes, totally forgot about to add that functionality to the IMPORT / EXPORT routine. Will get that sorted today

You can. That is the point of the syndicated feature, you can add the syndicated link to the clickthru / source / description to really funnel users to your money sites. I will go find the token now and post it up in a moment. I will see about making a Tumblingjazz tutorials forum as well that is linked from the app to explain this more complicated features.

Cheers, my list just seems to get bigger though, not smaller. But will prioritise the above for today.

If you want to use the URL to the syndicated post in your TUMBLR meta you can use

The actual URL

Code: Select all

 #SYND_URL#
or, if you have entered your goo.gl / bit.ly details, you can use a shortened version

Code: Select all

#SYND_URL_SHORT#

Thanks on the import/export it will help in the long run for sure.

I tried the ((SNYD)...) tag in the clickthru and source both and it didn't seem to work. It posted the tag and all to my WP blog.

What I'm trying to do is post a clickthru like this: ((TUM)#SYND_URL#) ((SYND)offer-url.com) and have the offer-url be a link in the WP blog post and have it set to go there when someone clicks on the picture in the WP blog post. I managed to make it work using the DESC tag and modding the html template but it's not ideal as now I have no description.

I think the cleanest fix to this would be have the ((TUM)...) and ((SYND)...) tags work in the "URL Click Though" and give us a tag for that in the "Syndicated Tmpl". Not just a tag to funnel from tumblr to the synd blog.

Linking from tumblr to the WP blog is working fine. Just getting a link in the WP post to an offer is what's proven tricky.

Thinking about this, I am not sure it should work. The clickthrough and source, only exists as explicit entities in tumblr. When posting to Wordpress, it would be up to you to set the Syndicated template to replicate the clickthrough / source.

So if you want to post only to tumblr, use the meta Source / Clickthru. If you want to post only to the syndication, use the Syndicated template

So what you want to do (currently) is:
Tumblr Meta Clickthrough: #SYND_URL#

Syndicated Template: <a href="http://offer.com"><img src="#IMG_URL#"></a>
I think the cleanest fix to this would be have the ((TUM)...) and ((SYND)...) tags work in the "URL Click Though" and give us a tag for that in the "Syndicated Tmpl". Not just a tag to funnel from tumblr to the synd blog.
As I mentioned above, the issue (as I see it, feel free to disagree) is that CLICK THRU does not exist in the syndicated blog post, it only exists for tumblr. But it is possible for you to set it up if you want via the syndicated template.

Anyway, I admit this whole feature is perhaps not as streamlined and user friendly as it could be. If you were expecting the ((TUM)..((SYN) to work in the click through / source, then it goes to reason others might as well.

So what I propose to do is this.

1) The token #SOURCE_URL# is available in the syndicated template, but I don't think #CLICK_THRU# is. I will add this token.

2) I will update the default syndicated template to be

Code: Select all

<div>
	<a href="#CLICK_THRU#"><img src="#IMG_URL#" alt="#TITLE#" title="#TITLE#"></a>
</div>
<div>#DESC#\nSource: #SOURCE_URL#</div>
Basically adding the anchor tag.
If the click thru is empty, the anchor will be removed.
The source URL and click thru will then work with the ((TUM) and ((SYN) tokens so can be specific, or you can just modify the syndicated template directly.

The only issue this will they bring, is the image will link to itself on the syndicated blog if a separate URL is not specified, but that isn't a major issue I suppose

Will that meet your requirements?

Yes that's the solution I had in mind. Adding a #click_thru# token to the synd tmpl would be best or at least enable the use of the ((TUM)) and ((SYND)) in the source token. Either way would work and free up the #DESC# token I'm using now.

Yes if I was trying to post the same link over and over in my syndicated blogs a quick change to the html template would work. But sadly nothing in my life is ever that easy lol. I'm most likely the odd person here trying to link to different offer links with each post.

For example say I'm trying to sell stuff from amazon (I'm not btw) and I post a picture of a blender on tumblr and say "click here for an amazing deal on this and more" they click and get redirected to my WP blog post showing the blender. This way I could put in the WP blog post desc "It's on sale today for only $29.99 click the photo to purchase" and link straight to the amazon page with the blender.
