Anyone Else Have Their Accounts Deleted Today?

Post by Quality1 »

About 1/3 of my accounts got deleted today. These were aged (4+ months) accounts, 1-2 accounts per (private) proxy, email verified.
A bit of a wrench in the gears, but I'll survive. What I'm most worried about is future accounts deletions.

Anyone else?

Same here, I lost 800 accounts, all age accounts more than 6 months. Maybe this bot leave footprint?

I think Soundcloud had a BIG clean out.

From old scrape lists of profiles / tracks. I am getting lots of 404s.

Have a read about (and through the code if you wish) of Soundclouds spam detection program

Detect when a user submits text that contains spam content.
Detect when a user submits multiple texts that are nearly identical.
Rate-limit malicious actions that users perform repeatedly.
Check user signatures such as IP addresses against external blacklist APIs.
Collect and consolidate reports of spam from users.
So it seems you have to be very careful in commenting, very natural and non-generic. Definitely don't use the bot to post spam affiliate links all over Soundcloud (why do that anyway? duh). The safest bet is to use private proxies that hopefully haven't been flagged by SC. Is the safest route 1-2 accounts per proxy still cool or is it down to 1 account per IP now?

Any other things to look out for Martin?

I don't think you have to use 1 account per proxy. A normal user may be in a band, may also dj and have a record label. So quite legitimately would have 3 accounts. This isn't going to stand out IMO

But, if you abuse one account, then the other accounts are at a risk.

Don't want to risk accounts, one per proxy. But you probably can and if go slow, will be fine
