New Function Suggestion

Post by dnd916 »

Hi, Would it be possible to add an option to the Tweet function to add a random top trending hashtag (USA) wherever the syntax %hashtag% appears in a tweet?

I have used this before and it is very powerful because you can add the current trending hashtags to the end of your tweet so that the tweet will end up in the search related to that trend and get noticed more.

Can you please elaborate on this... I'm not really sure what you mean...

there is no one trending hashtags, there are trending hashtags for different locations.

google it, twitter's help pages should give you more information, or just use the token
#trend_hash#

and twitter will decide what hashtags to show you, not sure how they decide, maybe IP, maybe account specified location

Hmm, I'm not sure that we are talking about the same thing?

I'm talking about something where in my text file for my tweets I add something like %hashtag% at the end of each tweet and then the software sends out the tweet along with one of the trending hashtags.

For example, if #PrayForParis is one of the top trending hashtags...

And the tweet in my text file is "Hey this is a tweet %hashtag%"

The resulting tweet would be "Hey this is a tweet #PrayForParis"

yes, that is what trend hash does.

But there is not one trending hash on twitter. It depends on your location.

#PrayForParis

might be trending in France, but unlikely in Japan, thus people in Japan would have other trending hash.

But run a test.

Post a tweet with the token I posted above and see what it does.

then google: twitter trending hash WOEID
or something and you can find out how to geo locate your trending hases
