Hot redirects - how to do that

Hi All

I found on tumblr strange redirects which are quite efficient when getting traffic and conversion. So my question is how to do it:

The guy posts images with a text that redirects to another tumblr blog #2. Like original.tumblr.com posts a html link that redirects to my.tumblr.com and this one redirects automatically to an affiliate offer.

How can that be done?????

JS redirect in the theme perhaps?

Bring up the redirect blog, view source.

Disable all JS first so it doesn't redirect you
