As a sort of follow-up question to viewtopic.php?f=30&t=5134
I today was talking to somebody about Twitter and limiting you in every aspect they deem fit. He mentioned to me that twitter would auto-unfollow his followers. And it's something I've been noticing since my return to twitter half a year ago: accounts that I should be following (that I *know* I was following) aren't suddenly followed by me any longer. It was bugging me for quite some time. The only unfollow bot I have, unfollows after 400 days of not tweeting by that account...
So... What's going on? Is Twitter not only censoring us through impressions but even unfollowing people automatically as they deem fit? Why?? And: WTF!!
What are your experiences on this front? Do share :)
Anyone else noticing Twitter auto-unfollowing you from people?
Anyone else noticing Twitter auto-unfollowing you from people?

Can these accounts not force you not follow them by block / unblock? I think someone said that
Re: Anyone else noticing Twitter auto-unfollowing you from people?
Blocking, that I know. I see that once in a while too (it always bugs me). BUT this is different... These are accounts that I know, with whom I even had good contacts (DM, tweets, etc) and somehow some time later I find I'm not following them any longer. I might screw up once, but I'm a compulsory follower and if I talk with ppl I follow - especially when they are teams promoting their altcoin / token.martin@rootjazz wrote: ↑Thu Oct 26, 2017 9:38 pm Can these accounts not force you not follow them by block / unblock? I up to now kinda ignored it but got talking with someone and well; see firs post here :)
So TL;DL: twitter is not only limiting free speech, but also (un)following for you... :(

ah ok, if you can rule out the user trying to force you to not follow them.
so either twitter is removing it (unlikely)
or the bot is unfollowing them
Do you know how long after following them it happens? hours / days?

I really can't say. I only notice it when I get back in touch again or visit their profile. It's done by Twitter themselves it seems. Like I said, I was suspecting follow liker but I kinda ruled that out again too - especially after what this guy told me...
Twitter is never going to break through and be profitable if they keep this up :/

that sounds more plausible than twitter doing it. But if you have reasons to think otherwise...suspecting follow liker but I kinda ruled that out again too -
As you say - very strange
Re: Anyone else noticing Twitter auto-unfollowing you from people?
Other reason is that it is NOT massive enough to blame the followliker. AND the confirmation by somebody else...martin@rootjazz wrote: ↑Sat Oct 28, 2017 8:16 pmthat sounds more plausible than twitter doing it. So yeah, I think this is a new twitter feature.

ok, we can leave it at that for now. If you come to think it may be TD based, do let me know and I can look further into it
