Scrape Results can't save because the file name is too long

Post by eddielp123 » Sun Jul 26, 2020 12:42 pm

Hey,

I'm trying to run a User Scrape action.

I got a lot of hasthags that I put into the Specify search term/file path of terms and then Search by Authors Hashtag. So far so good. It will also find users and scrape them but the problem is - it simply cannot save them.

The problem is here: Due to me having so many hashtags to find users from and the bots "way" of saving the files, it doesn't work. Example

I have
hashtag1,hashtag2,hashtag3

it will save the file with the scrape results as

search_authors_hashtag_search_ids_hashtag1hashtag2hashtag3_2020-07-26.txt

Now if i want to use more hashtags,

hashtag1,hashtag2,hashtag3,hashtag4,hashtag5,hashtag6,hashtag7,hashtag8,hashtag9,hashtag10,hashtag11,hashtag12,hashtag13,hashtag14,hashtag15,hashtag16,hashtag17,hashtag18,hashtag19,hashtag20,hashtag21

the file name becomes so long

search_authors_hashtag_search_ids_hashtag1,hashtag2,hashtag3,hashtag4,hashtag5,hashtag6,hashtag7,hashtag8,hashtag9,hashtag10,hashtag11,hashtag12,hashtag13,hashtag14,hashtag15,hashtag16,hashtag17,hashtag18,hashtag19,hashtag20,hashtag21_2020-07-26.txt

That it wont let it save. It is necessary for me to run the actions in one (all hashtags in one) instead of splitting up the action in

action1:
hashtag1,hashtag2,hashtag3

action2:
hashtag4,hashtag5,hashtag6

because i need UNIQUE results, which wouldn't be the case when i would split the action like that.

Taking a look into the logs makes the issue more apparent:
ERROR:(486743568) storeusers: The specified path, file name, or both are too long. The fully qualified file name must be less than 260 characters, and the directory name must be less than 248 characters.
so be on the lookout for this in the logs

I also tried putting all the hashtags into a text file and was hoping for it to name the file differently but it didn't. Possible solution would be to set a file length limit for the bot so you can still use all the hashtags you want without this being the problem

Also submitted logs: 74138

Thank you,
Eddie

Why are you entering a CSV of search terms as your input, that doesn't work (from what I remember).

It is necessary for me to run the actions in one (all hashtags in one) instead of splitting up the action in
why? IG doesn't (or didn't - maybe has changed) let you input

hash1,hash2,hash3 into the phone app like that, so it is a nonsense search?

But anyway, the program should test and reduce save path filename regardless if the search is valid or not.

Next update...

It was a regular TXT file with just the hashtags seen in the log

The search has been working great for me?
What i usually do is just put "Search Authors Hashtag" and then enter the hashtags i want, usually
#hash1,#hash2,#hash3,#hash4,#hash5,#hash6,#hash7
and it works well. It will always select one of these hashtags and search and then the next and so on.. as far as i know.. so basically a multiple hashtag search

ah ok, it isn't the same file name, but the unique across multiple search action logs files.

Will fix for next update
