Virus detected

Post by legion85 »

Hi,

I am using Immunet software for antivirus detection. Tried running the TumblingJazz on my brand new work computer. I got a notification that a virus was detected.

I am kinda worried as I am using it on my work computer. I would probably be fired if I got a ransomware virus.

It is what is known as a FALSE POSITIVE. Your AV software is making a guess based on some software properties, nearly always it is because the code is protected to protect against cracking. Which are the same techniques used by malware to hide what they do. But is a valid technique. Just like a knife is also a valid cooking utensil, but also a deadly weapon.

You have two options

1) inform your AV company of the false positive (They will have a form on their site). They will check and confirm *THEIR* mistake and whitelist the program

2) Make sure the applications program files folder:

c:\program files (x86)\tumbling jazz

is whitelisted and / or all the .exe and .dlls in that folder.

Martin
