How Does "Custum Search" Work?

I'm kinda lost, I've been looking all over but cant seem to find anyone really explaining what exactly Custom Search does. Can someone really dumb it down for me? Maybe do a short "Custom Search From Dummies" I'd really appreciate it!

but basically you build a search which will pass the results from one step into the next

so select

followers
latest track
likers

and you will scrape a list of followers from the profile input, then get the latest track of each, then get the likers of those tracks
