How to verify my accounts?

Post by jlmaha5 »

Hi,

I started creating accounts with emails I just bought but I have a few troubles:

- SC manager often fail to connect to my gmail accounts because they were created with another IP address and so it fails to verify the Soundcloud accounts.
Is there a way to verify those accounts from SC manager afterwards? For example manually open my emails and copy paste into SC manager the confirmation url I received.

- Also, I use private proxies but when SC manager tried to connect to the gmail it used my own IP.
(I would like SC manager to also use my private proxies when connecting to my gmail accounts or it will flag my real ip.

- Is there a way to edit the permalink of my accounts from SC Manager ?

Thanks,
Jlmaha

Proxies are not used to log into you email accounts. SCM uses the POP protocol to connect to your emails. The proxies are HTTP protocol proxies thus cannot be used for the POP protocol. If gmail is refusing access via the POP server, not much can be done. SCM asks to connect, Gmail says no....

No there isn't I'm afraid. If you were to log into gmail and extract the verification link, you might as well just click it yourself (assigning the proxy to the browser if you want to keep the SC account tied to the proxy).

SCM is happy to work with verified / non-verified accounts, so whether it knows about the verification doesn't matter

- Also, I use private proxies but when SC manager tried to connect to the gmail it used my own IP.
As above
(I would like SC manager to also use my private proxies when connecting to my gmail accounts or it will flag my real ip.
Not possible I'm afraid. Would need to use a VPN for this

errr top of my head, I am not sure. You can update the USERNAME from the ACCOUNTS tab, this *MAY* update the permalink as well, or it may not. I have to run out the door now so don't have time to check.

I will try and remember to check later, if you don't hear back, just post a reminder for me here :)

Thanks for your answer.
I think it does not change the url when changing the url.
Also when creating account, is it possible to leave the first name and last name blank ?

I mean I want to pick my username but when I leave first name and last name blank it pick random ones.
Is there a code I could use to leave it blank like username,NA,NA ?

Thanks,

Also, when I try to change username, first name, last name it actually change the username and the first name but always put a random last name...

And I can't import the emails I just bought from the Import Email Accounts tabs.

It's as follow on my notepad.
Anything wrong?

permalink can be changed under settings of your account, there is a edit button behind it.
Username is what will show up under your avatar in your profile and first and lastname can be left blank (just tested that and when you leave it blank they wont show)

kind regards

IF you change the permalink in the accounts details popup, this doesn't update the site, this is just changing the details for SCM (if you manually updated the details in the site).

No there is not. But good point, I will add support for a blank token, this will leave things as they are

This is fixed and in the latest / testing version.

Looks correct to me, are you getting errors? Or just 0 items imported?

I don't get any error message, it's just not importing anything yeah, when I click on "Import Email Accounts" and click and my .txt nothing happens. I tried with your "emailformat.txt" tho and it works so somethings must be wrong with mine..

When you click the link in the message and the new tab opens, somewhere on that tab will be a link to click to confirm. Repeat and find that link to complete the process.
