Account creation: Avatars not uploading?

Been testing on the latest stable build. I had an action create 10 unverified accounts, with custom names using (user,first,last) and pointing to a folder with 100 or so avatars. SM ignored the custom input and created random names with numbers, and did not upload any picture for the account. Spintax descriptions were the only thing custom that uploaded correctly. Can you check and let me know if I'm losing my mind? Not uploading avatars is a real pain when it comes to unverified accounts, as it's impossible to add them after the fact unless those accounts are ultimately verified. It was working perfectly yesterday or the day before. Thanks in advance.

If it was working and now isn't, maybe soundcloud have changed something, I will check

Again I will check, but this hasn't changed, are you sure you didn't leave a box checked (or unchecked ) that you didn't realise?

Yes- it changed. Seems soundcloud now provides a default avatar of a gradient without an option to upload one when creating an account. You must verify your account to change it, I believe. Well, that sucks.

They probably got fed up of unverified accounts, I imagine soon accounts will have to be verified to be used....

When uploads such as Avatars do fail establish whether this is a general uploads failure by attempting to upload an image via the WordPress Media library interface, more often than not this, too, will fail and you will know it’s an owner/permissions failure that needs correcting – you may need to contact your host to have this corrected explaining that the server process.

no, the issue is soundcloud removed the ability to upload avatars until you have verified
