Custom HTML theme

Post by joannefunfan »

Hi rootjazz,

Sorry to bother you again but I am trying to use customized themes on my tumblr accounts.
Can you briefly explain how to upload a custom theme? I couldn't find a tutorial here or on youtube.

Best regards and thanks in advance.

You put your custom themes in a folder, then specify the folder in either the Accounts Creation tab or the Edit Accounts tab.

If their are many themes in the folder, then one at random will be selected

I understand but what is a theme exactly?
I mean, afik you can only copy past html into tumblr?
Do I need to create index.html files with the html or something?

Ah yes.

Just incase some one else finds this thread.

A custom theme would be the entire page HTML that you see when you go to
http://tumblr.com/customize
(maybe have to then click a link am not sure)

You can find custom themes on the web for free. Just copy them all separate text files, then dump them in a folder.

What are the steps in updating our theme?
All I see is adding email (which is to create accounts).
But no option to choose active accounts. (I'm in the create accounts tab).
How again?
