Track uploader question

I'm uploading multiple tracks and I want to keep the file name without the extension. I see that you have #FILENAME# to do that, but when I put it the Assign Meta box, it does not update after I click save. All of the other values do. how does this option work?

The title column should also update, it does for me when I tested.

If you have already set a title, then it won't update, it will only update those with no title
