Using Trending Hashtags to Follow

Post by shaily »

Hi Martin,

Just wanted to know if there is a way to search for the trending hashtags or related hashtags and then follow the profiles which have trending tweets or their followers.

I can do that if I define the hashtag in the multi search but is it possible to do the same with #trend_hash# and/or hashtags related to the hashtag?

Really appreciate the help.

Cheers,
Shaily

Yes you should be able to use trendhash in your custom search I THINK. Let me run some tests....

yes just use:
#trend_hash#

in your CUSTOM SEARCH:

tweet search
creator

and the program will pull a trending hash, perform the search on that hash and return profiles

Thanks Martin.... That works.

How about picking up hashtags related to trending hashtags?
Or
Trending Hashtags by location?

Is that possible?

Not sure that I understand, explain how to get these please
Or
Trending Hashtags by location?
This functionality doesn't exist (and hasn't for years). Twitter will ONLY give you the trending hashes for the country you have assigned in the settings. There is no way anymore to say "give me trending for london" "give me trending for germany". You need to go into the account, change the trending location for the account, then ask for trending and the twitter setting is used
