How many twitterdub can I launch at the same time with many vps ?

Post by Leorion »

Hello Again !

I was wondering how many Twitterdub I'll be able to run in total in the case I want ONE TWITTERDUB per VPS?

Do I have to pay if I want to launch another instance in another vps? Or will I be able to run them at the same time without issues? (limits??)

Thank you :)

Hi,

Your license is good for you to install on *three* machines. We understand most users have a desktop, laptop and perhaps want to run it on a VPS server as well. This is a trust agreement that you use it on *your* machines and not give a copy to friends.

As for instances on a machine, that is "unlimited". Which means "we" don't limit you, machine resources will. The most instances I have heard of on a single machine is about 20. NOTE must be a separate database for each instance. DO NOT RUN multiple instances on the same database.

To open new instances:
For some info on custom db instances, check the thread
https://rootjazz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=874

To open a specific instance within the app select:
FILE > NEW DB INSTANCE > instance_name

instance_name is the name of the instance / database. To reopen this instance, use the same instance_name

Additionally: Find the exe in the program files folder:
c:\program files (x86)\APP_NAME\

right click the exe
select CREATE SHORTCUT (this will probably put it on your desktop
Find the short cut and right click > PROPERTIES
In the target box you will see
c:\program files (x86)\APP_NAME\APP_NAME.exe

Change this to:
c:\program files (x86)\APP_NAME\APP_NAME.exe instance_name
WARNING instance_name must be one word
Click ok to save

Now when you double click this shortcut, the program will open in a new instance with a database specified by instance_name. This is the same instance that would load if you opened a new instance from within the app via:
FILE > NEW DB INSTANCE > instance_name

* where APP_NAME is the name of the app

Regards,
Martin
