Confusion over retweeting
Confusion over retweeting
I want twitterdub to retweet a single tweet.
I have the tweet I want to retweet, somehow I can't get this program to do that.
I looked at the tutorial, still no go.
Twitterdub is retweeting, perhaps someone who liked the tweet -- I have no idea what it is doing.
What are the steps to retweeting a single tweet?
Do I need to have the tweet link?
Do I use tweet search? Custom tweet?
Please provide guidance.

Re: Confusion over retweeting
Ok, I think I found it.
In case there are others confused:
The function is in the custom search.
Use the ID of the tweet (the long list of numbers after twitter.com/<name of twitter account>/status/)
Go to custom search click A Tweet ID or URL.
I double clicked and selected 1 - I am not sure what would have happened if I left it 0.
That seemed to have done it.
My only question - it only retweeted the text of the tweet. How to retweet the text and the image with the tweet?

Re: Confusion over retweeting
You can do it that way. Just enter the full tweet URL that will work.
enter 1 or 0 or 999, the search returns a single tweet so the number you enter is irrelevantI double clicked and selected 1 - I am not sure what would have happened if I left it 0.
retweet is retweet, it should retweet it all.My only question - it only retweeted the text of the tweet. How to retweet the text and the image with the tweet?
Email me the original URL and your retweeted URL and I will take a look
Code: Select all

OK. I'll make a note of this.martin@rootjazz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 9:00 pmYou can do it that way. Just enter the full tweet URL that will work.
Good to knowmartin@rootjazz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 9:00 pmenter 1 or 0 or 999, the search returns a single tweet so the number you enter is irrelevant
I was able to successfully retweet the pic along with the tweet on another tweet. Going to look back at my steps and see where I went off now that I know the expected behavior.martin@rootjazz wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2019 9:00 pmretweet is retweet, it should retweet it all.

Note, you must be on the RETWEET tab, not search and tweet, where you will copy the tweet and tweet it as an original tweet. This will work (not work) as you specify and just tweet the textCode: Select all

Will email if the solution is not obvious.

Re: Confusion over retweeting
I think you were not on the RETWEET tab to be honest. As a retweet just sends the ID to retweet, then twitter handles the showing of retweeted media (if present).
Whereas if you were on the Search and Tweet tab, the program finds a tweet, scrapes the text and tweets that as an original tweet - which describes the results you specified exactly.
To know what tab you are on, click the menu icon and text on the top bar of the app will tell you.
Regards,
Martin

I was bouncing around doing a number of things so it is possible.
Re: Confusion over retweeting
Can retweets be done on a single account based on keyword?
For instance if I wanted to retweet the AP when it reported someone had died (using keywords like killed or R.I.P or died) would I enter that in the tweet filter/include words?
I'm unclear cause the description says the world should appear in the bio.

Re: Confusion over retweeting
Yes, use the SEARCH&RETWEET function (not mass retweet)
Custom search:For instance if I wanted to retweet the AP when it reported someone had died (using keywords like killed or R.I.P or died) would I enter that in the tweet filter/include words?
TWEET SEARCH RECENT
Search Input: killed
this is for USERSEARCH, not tweet / keyword / hashtag search (TWEET SEARCH)I'm unclear cause the description says the world should appear in the bio.

Do you mean search tweet and reply function?martin@rootjazz wrote: ↑Mon Jan 27, 2020 1:27 pm Yes, use the SEARCH&RETWEET function (not mass retweet)
This appears to want me to reply to the tweet which I don't want to do (if i can avoid it). I just want to retweet.Custom search:
TWEET SEARCH RECENT
