Posting on blog description - can we add useful feature?

Post by coucan1 »

Hi,

When we post blog description on Tumblr, we can not post links or images with non-https format , all the text links and image links must be: https.

If we post non-https format in the description, Tumblr returns an error.

As I am using an article spinner that scrape images from Google, both with http and https.

Is it possible for TJ to strip or remove all http links before posting in description? and only keep the https links?

Can you add this new feature? or this require a lot of work and time?

Thanks for your answer!

It is doable, and I will log your you suggestion. However it is a very single user specific request. There is not going to be widespread demand for the feature. Add to the fact tumjazz is not a high priority for us as it just doesn't sell well (at all) anymore since tumblr killed off adult blogs.

It is maintained when tumblr break features as maybe tumblr increases in popularity again and we will be the only remaining tumblr bot available and as it was our second program released I have some attachment to it.

But as for new features especially those not in wide demand, it is unlikely to be added in all honestly.

Ok, thank you for your honesty :D

Which program is your best-seller at the moment?

I may be interested to promote my website with it, but I don't know where to start, with Instagram, Twitter, or...

Instagram / Twitter / Soundcloud are the main programs.

Tumblr used to be the best seller at one point, but as explained above, changes made by the old owners (yahoo) removing adult blogs which was about 50% of tumblrs user base and I think about 80% of those adult blogs were automated. Still lots of users on tumblr, but not the kind to use bots. I didn't think anyone was still using the bot, when tumblr recently made changes breaking the app completely I was going to kill it off, but speaking to our customer base I was surprised lots still using it and finding it useful and expected so the program had a 80% rewrite to keep it alive.

Martin
